The British Academy – Fellowships

The British Academy’s fellowship and award-holders represent breadth and excellence of expertise across humanities and social science. The Academy’s policy and research work is dedicated to applying that insight to policy issues for public benefit and societal wellbeing.

The following fellowships are open for application:

  • Mid-Career Fellowships: The Mid-Career Fellowships are designed both to support outstanding individual researchers with excellent research proposals, and to promote public understanding and engagement with humanities and social sciences. (Closing date: 7 September 2022)
  • Innovation Fellowships Scheme – Route A: Researcher-led: The Innovation Fellowships scheme is a dual-route scheme designed to enable researchers in the humanities and social sciences to partner with organisations and business in the creative and cultural, public, private and policy sectors in order to address challenges that require innovative approaches and solutions. (Closing date: 14 September 2022)
  • Postdoctoral Fellowships: The British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships is a three year award made to an annual cohort of outstanding early career researchers in the humanities or social sciences. (Closing date: 12 October 2022)
