Kevin Campbell – Senior Research Manager, NETSCC, Health Services and Delivery Research programme
Kevin served in the Army Medical Services for 22 years before joining the National Institute for Health Research in 2008. As a member of the NIHR Evaluations, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) Kevin has worked in the Montoring team, working with and assisting project teams during their active study phases and has provided the lead for topic identification and prioritisation and application and funding, for the Service Delivery and Organisation (SDO) and Health Services and Delivery Research (HS&DR) programmes, since 2010. Kevin is the NETSCC lead for the NIHR Standard Application Form and the HS&DR lead for Patient and Public Involvement.
Simon Conroy, Geriatrician, Leicester
Simon’s ambition is to improve outcomes for frail older people by embedding evidence based medicine into clinical practice (‘campus to clinic’ translational research). His research addresses different models of care for frail older people, assessing feasibility as well as clinical and cost-effectiveness. His educational activities take an interdisciplinary perspective on developing and teaching knowledge locally (frailty services), nationally (BGS) and internationally (EUGMS & EAMA). Implementation of research findings into clinical practice is key, and best exemplified by work on the Silver Book and the Acute Frailty Network.
