This interactive workshop is aimed at those involved in processing payment for public involvement. It will enable delegates to:

  • Understand how different institutions approach payment for public involvement
  • Understand how tax and welfare benefits agencies view these payments
  • Discover how members of the public might be supported to make the process easier to navigate.
  • Be clearer about how an individual’s eligibility to receive welfare benefits might be put at risk by receiving payments
  • Understand when reimbursed expenses might need to be declared for tax purposes
  • Understand how tax and welfare benefits authorities view the use of high street shopping vouchers.

It’s also an opportunity to discover the support available to the public, researchers, institutions and PPI managers on payments, and what you could provide to make the process easier for everyone. You’ll have the chance to ask questions about the processes you use, and discuss with others how they approach payment for involvement.
