Orthopaedic Research UK: Research grants

Orthopaedic Research UK aims to fill the most important gaps in research funding in bone, joint and muscle well-being. They fund innovative research projects in the UK that expand knowledge, improve patient outcomes and pioneer new forms of diagnosis and treatment. Orthopaedic Research UK want to drive breakthrough research to reduce the burden on individuals, on workplaces, and on the health system. They support research capable of being translated into benefits for people. This is achieved by investing in academic and non-academic research within the following two areas: Diagnosis and Treatment.

The following research awards are open for application:

  • The Ronald Furlong Fund: This award is designed to support entrepreneurs accelerate innovative and commercially viable ideas to solve the unmet needs of society around bone, joint and muscle wellbeing.
  • Inspiration Fund: This award is designed to support innovative and patient engaging projects, addressing patients’ unmet needs. Projects should aim to reduce MSK pain, improve function, decrease healthcare costs, and improve quality of life.
