Orthopaedic Research UK want to use funding to drive breakthrough research to reduce the burden on individuals, on workplaces, and our health system. They aim to support research capable of being translated into benefits for people. This is achieved by investing in academic and non-academic research within the following two areas: diagnosis and treatment.

The following funding opportunities are open for application:

• The Ronald Furlong Fund: Designed to support entrepreneurs accelerate innovative and commercially viable ideas to solve the unmet needs of society around bone, joint and muscle wellbeing.
• Inspiration Fund: Designed to support innovative and patient engaging projects, addressing patients’ unmet needs. Projects should aim to reduce MSK pain, improve function, decrease healthcare costs, and improve quality of life.

Deadline for proposals: 5 June 2023
