NIHR The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme-New commissioned calls

The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme funds research about the clinical and cost-effectiveness, and broader impact of healthcare treatments and tests, for those who plan, provide or receive care from NHS, and social care services. The HTA Programme is accepting Stage 1 applications to their commissioned workstream for the following primary research topics:

Deadline: 26 July 2023

• 23/30 Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for depression in adolescents
• 23/31 Prophylactic nebulised antibiotics for patients with a permanent tracheostomy or who have undergone a laryngectomy
• 23/33 The clinical and cost-effectiveness of colesevelam for the treatment of bile acid diarrhoea
• 23/34 Screening for COPD during the targeted lung health check
• 23/35 Extended duration tocilizumab for giant cell arteritis
• 23/36 Oral corticosteroids, NSAIDs or colchicine for gout flares
• 23/37 Higher-calorie refeeding compared with lower-calorie refeeding in malnourished adults with anorexia nervosa
• 23/38 Nebulised therapy in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and disabling breathlessness

Deadline: 20 September 2023

• 23/42 Endoscopic modalities for detection of Barrett’s oesophagus related neoplasia
• 23/43 Management of severe acute asthma in children
• 23/44 Effectiveness of oral nutritional supplements in older adults with malnutrition

Deadline: 29 November 2023

• 23/39 Music based interventions and dementia care
• 23/40 Supporting the mental health of birth mothers at risk of recurrent care proceedings
