NIHR Population Health Career Scientist Awards Webinar

  Tuesday, 08 Nov 2022 | Webinar

Join Professor Trevor Sheldon, Professor Brian Ferguson and Dr Claire Kidgell to learn
about the next round of NIHR Population Health Career Scientist Awards (PHCSA)

Date: Tuesday 8 November 2022
Time: 10:15 – 11:30
Platform: MS Teams

The PHCSA is a joint NIHR PHR and NIHR Academy run award, open to applicants from
across the four UK countries. The award is aimed at senior researchers from a range of
disciplines, ready to take the next step to become a population/public health leader and make
the transition to reader or professor level.
We are looking for applicants that have innovative approaches to research in areas which
impact the determinants of health (e.g. environmental science, mathematical sciences,
chemistry, materials, physics, information and communication technologies, architecture,
engineering, geography, education, social sciences, social policy, arts, climate change).
The awards main focus is tackling the wider preventable risk factors and determinants of
health, for example the impact of urban design on mental health and wellbeing. There is an
expectation that the research supported through this award will be of importance and relevance
to local government.

The webinar will take you through the aims and purpose of the award, providing examples of
areas of research of particular interest.
Individual discussion sessions for potential applicants will be arranged after the webinar.
