NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme (HTA) – Latest funding opportunities

  Thursday, 29 Sep 2022 | Funding Deadline

The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme funds research about the clinical and cost-effectiveness, and broader impact of healthcare treatments and tests, for those who plan, provide or receive care from NHS, and social care services.

The HTA programme is accepting applications for the following opportunities:

22/124 A platform trial to evaluate therapeutic interventions for Influenza
The HTA Programme is accepting straight to Stage 2 applications for this primary research topic. Through this call, the HTA Programme intends to commission a platform study that will efficiently generate high-quality evidence around the clinical and cost-effectiveness of multiple therapeutic interventions for complicated influenza for patients of all ages. (Closing date: 29 September 2022)

22/123 Comprehensive geriatric assessment for frail older heart failure patients with preserved ejection fraction
Heart failure is a major cause of morbidity amongst older adults, particularly in those who are frail, and the incidence is rising in line with an ageing population. Approximately 10% of adults aged over 70 years old have heart failure, with half of these patients experiencing heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Ejection fraction refers to the percentage of the blood in the left ventricle which is pumped out with each heartbeat. The HTA Programme is accepting stage 1 applications to this commissioned primary research topic. (Closing date: 30 November 2022)
