NIHR Health Services Delivery Research Programme (HSDR) – Latest funding opportunities

The Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme aims to produce rigorous and relevant evidence to improve the quality, accessibility and organisation of health and social care services. The following funding opportunities are currently open for application:

HSDR Rapid Service Evaluation Team 2023 (closing date 10 November 2022)
HSDR) Programme wishes to commission a social care rapid evaluation team. The team will work in partnership with colleagues working in social care services to produce proportionate, alongside real time, evaluations of innovations and developments in social care services, which will generate evidence of national relevance to improve care and outcomes for service users, their support networks, and professionals delivering those services. This call covers adult and children’s services. The value of the contract will be a maximum of £3m over a maximum period of five years outputting at least two evaluations a year, depending on the scope of each evaluation, to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

NIHR NICE rolling call (closing date: 16 November 2022)
The Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme is accepting stage one applications to this funding opportunity. The programme is interested in receiving applications to meet recommendations in research identified in NICE guidance that has been published or updated since 2015. Proposals must be within the remit of the HSDR Programme and the primary outcome measure must be health related. (This call is also open in the Public Health Research (PHR), Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation (EME), and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) programmes for proposals which fall within the remit of those programmes - applicants should apply directly to the relevant programme).

Health and Social Care Delivery Research Programme researcher-led (closing date: 16 November 2022)
The NIHR Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme funds research to produce evidence to impact on the quality, accessibility and organisation of health and social care services. This includes evaluations of how the NHS and social care might improve delivery of services. The audience for this research is the public, service users, clinicians, professionals and managers. The HSDR Programme aims to produce rigorous and relevant evidence on the quality, access and organisation of health and social care services, including costs and outcomes. The programme will enhance the strategic focus on research that matters to the NHS including research on implementation and a range of knowledge mobilisation initiatives.
