Histiocytosis UK is dedicated to promoting and funding scientific research into uncovering not only the causes of all histiocytic diseases, which include Langerhans’s Cell Histiocytosis and Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis, but also ensuring early diagnosis, effective treatment and a cure. Applications are invited for studies into Histiocytic Neoplasms (LCH) and Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) for a maximum budget of £50,000 and duration of up to 24 months.
Histio UK will consider scientific and clinical research on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment and clinical care of patients. Applicants will be required to describe the likely impact of their research upon patients with histiocytic disorders and to outline a plan to attract further independent funding, using the award to drive forward new competitively funded research relevant to histiocytosis. The credibility of these sections of the application will be central to a successful outcome through the review process.
